A Voice of Influence – Advocacy training
24/07/2018 @ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm$325
WLAQ is excited to be hosting its first workshop focused on voice training and advocacy with Lucy Cornell, CEO of The Voice Advisory. Lucy may be familiar to many members of the bar who have participated in her appeals workshop. This workshop is strictly limited to 20 participants. A Voice of Influence A significant skill for lawyers is the ability to connect and engage in spoken communications. A Voice of Influence with Lucy Cornell is designed to bring barristers out from behind their written words and ask them to invest their energy, passion and belief into the act of speaking. While the intellectual rigour of an argument is key, the ability to connect and bring words to life and into the interpersonal relationship is essential to ensure trust and buy in from stakeholders and clients. Face to face spoken communications develop relationships that affect business outcomes and the bottom line. This session will be practical, technical and fun. Over 3 hours we will consider the theory behind having a voice at the table and work practically on your own voice to ensure you can mark your right to speak and be heard. You will walk away with skills to apply immediately in high stakes spoken communications to assist you in asserting your voice and in being heard. About Lucy Lucy Cornell is the CEO of The Voice Advisory and has been a keynote speaker in 15 countries to 1000’s of executives at over 300 events globally. For 12 years, she has led a voice and performance coaching faculty of 8 coaches for the Australia Bar Association’s Advocacy Courses and introduced voice and performance coaching for trial lawyers for the South African Bar and The Singapore Bar.
